As Independence Day approaches, the City of Long Beach is reminding everyone of the regulations regarding fireworks. It is crucial to note that fireworks are NOT ALLOWED TO BE DISCHARGED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF LONG BEACH. Despite this restriction, the city will host its traditional fireworks display on the beach on the evening of July 4th at dusk.
Important Dates and Times for Fireworks Sales and Use Outside City Limits
To ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday, the city has outlined specific dates and times when fireworks can be sold and discharged outside the city limits:
Sell and Purchase:
- July 1 – July 4: 12:00 PM (Noon) to 11:00 PM
- December 29 – 31: 12:00 PM (Noon) to 11:00 PM
Used or Discharged:
- July 2 – 3: 12:00 PM (Noon) to 11:00 PM
- July 4: 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM (July 5th)
- December 31: 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM (January 1st)
Safety and Cleanliness
The city invites residents and visitors to celebrate the holiday weekend safely and respectfully. To maintain cleanliness, trash dumpsters will be available at both the Bolstad and Sid Snyder beach approaches. The city requests everyone to ensure that fireworks are completely extinguished before disposal. This effort helps keep the beaches and community clean.
