This situation highlights a failure in leadership by our president, the election board chair, and other board members when it comes to implementing electronic voting for members. Despite their repeated claims of support for electronic voting, their inaction has undermined their credibility. During this year’s member meeting, the board’s representative tried to negotiate changes to my motion, aiming to make it more generic instead of endorsing ElectionBuddy specifically—this was quite revealing. His comment, “You will get what you want,” was both puzzling and troubling.
I don’t propose solutions to “get what I want.” It’s not about me—I have no personal agenda here or any ties to the election, buddy. ElectionBuddy is simply a tool and an end to ensure every member has an equal voice and a fair say in decisions that impact their lives. With ten years of experience recommending data center virtualization software solutions to customers. It’s a great solution selected by twelve thousand organizations for electronic voting. What I want is irrelevant; it’s about what the members want. And 97% of them have already stated they want electronic voting. Yet, for an entire year, the board has ignored this overwhelming consensus. Not a single motion that I’ve heard has been made, and no concrete steps have been taken.
The fact I had to propose a motion is embarrassing. An HOA in Virginia delivered it in two months showing a commitment to their members to make it easy for them to vote with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
