A Tribute to Clinton Carter and his Peninsula Blues Festival Legacy

Clinton Carter  was more than a talented musician—he was a heartbeat in the soul of the Long Beach Peninsula. He passed May 13 2025. A great loss to all his friends and family.

From the streets of Tulsa to the shores of Ilwaco, Clint brought rhythm, humor, and heart to everyone he met. With his deep roots in blues and his unmistakable style, he helped shape the local music scene, fronting bands like Hindsight 20/20, Buoy 10, and North Coast Blues. North Coast Blues kicked off last year’s festival with unforgettable energy—curt’s passing a heartfelt loss for all who were there.

Perhaps his most enduring contribution was his role in building the Peninsula Blues Festival into a beloved tradition. His dedication to music and community made the festival not just an event, but a gathering of spirit, and sound. Clint’s legacy will continue to echo through the beats of every drum, the twang of every guitar, and the voices that rise each year in celebration of the blues he so dearly loved. I have attended three of the festivals. The Peninsula Blues Festival stands as one of the finest events that brings our community together through the power of music. Blues music speaks to the soul, offering comfort through its raw emotion and shared sorrow, helping listeners feel emotionally uplifted. We are deeply grateful to Clinton Carter for bringing his passion to our shores and giving us a sound that unites, uplifts, and lives on.
