ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR THE COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP!# Community Cleanup – July 5th (This Means YOU!)

Every year, the morning after the 4th of July reveals a harsh truth—our beaches, once pristine and breathtaking, are left buried under a mountain of fireworks debris, bottles, wrappers, and plastic waste. What begins as celebration ends as a crisis for wildlife, our oceans, and our health.

But you can change that.

Every plastic bottle or piece of garbage left behind is a ticking time bomb—destined to be broken down by waves and sunlight into toxic microplastics or chemicals  that enter our oceans, our food, and even the very air we breathe. Each cleanup effort stops this invisible threat in its tracks. When you pick up a single piece of trash, you’re not just tidying the beach—you’re protecting the lungs of all of us

Plastic waste left behind on beaches poses a serious threat to wildlife, especially birds like seagulls, fish, and marine mammals, who often mistake it for food. When animals ingest plastic, it can block their digestive tracts, cause internal injuries, or make them feel full without getting any nutrition, leading to starvation. Fish may ingest plastics that end up in the food chain. But you are protecting all:( wildlife, seagulls, deer, eagles, squirrels, cats, dogs,

Plastic pollution doesn’t vanish—it fragments. Over time, it breaks into microplastics, so small that they become airborne or end up in the fish we eat. And we’re now learning how these particles can lodge in our lungs and bloodstream, with serious health consequences. That’s why beach cleanups are no longer optional—they are a critical public service. So, a big thanks to past volunteers who have shown dedication to cleaning our beaches and the many who will volunteer this year.

So give kudos to the grassroots garbage gang i for their efforts to keep our beaches pristine.

This is the big one. This is your beach. Let’s protect it—together.
Every bottle you pick up is one less we’ll inhale as microplastic.
🌊 Let’s show our coast—and each other—what community really means.
