Pacific County Fire District #1 Now Accepting Applications for Volunteer Firefighters

Pacific County Fire District #1 is now accepting applications for entry-level volunteer firefighters, offering a vital opportunity for community members to serve, protect, and make a real difference close to home. As emergency calls continue to rise across the region, the district is seeking dedicated individuals ready to step into one of the most respected and impactful public service roles available.

To support new recruits, PCFD #1 will host its bi-annual Firefighter Academy beginning January 6, 2026. This intensive 16-week training program is designed to meet both Washington State and National standards for entry-level firefighters. The academy will be open not only to Pacific County departments, but also to surrounding areas, strengthening regional emergency response capabilities.

Volunteer firefighters receive hands-on training in fire suppression, emergency response, rescue operations, and teamwork under real-world conditions. The role demands commitment, physical readiness, and courage—but it also offers unmatched rewards, including advanced training, life-saving skills, lifelong friendships, and the honor of serving neighbors in times of crisis.
