These advisories follow the expiration of a previous coastal flood warning Thursday evening and reflect continued elevated tidal conditions along the coast.

Areas Affected

Washington: South Washington Coast

Oregon: Clatsop County Coast

Expected Conditions & Impacts

Forecasters expect total tide levels reaching up to:

These elevated tides are forecast to cause:

Flooding concentrated in:

Low-lying coastal neighborhoods

Areas near bays and sloughs

Lower reaches of coastal rivers

While the flooding is categorized as minor, saltwater intrusion and roadway impacts are possible during peak tide cycles.

Public Safety Advisory

The National Weather Service states:

“A Coastal Flood Advisory means that tidal overflow flooding is expected.”

Residents and visitors in affected areas are urged to:

Monitor tide levels closely

Avoid parking in low-lying areas during high tide

Secure property vulnerable to saltwater intrusion

Use caution near coastal roads, bays, and river outlets

Community Awareness Is Critical

Even minor tidal flooding can:

Damage vehicles and infrastructure

Flood basements and crawl spaces

Disrupt local traffic

Accelerate shoreline erosion

Coastal residents, property managers, and visitors should take precautionary measures seriously during both advisory periods.
