Music in the Park 2026 Brings Summer Sounds to Long Beach

Summer in Long Beach means beach walks, ocean breezes, and the return of Music in the Park, a free concert series sponsored by the Long Beach Merchants Association. From June through September, local and regional performers will bring a variety of musical styles to Mary Lou’s Park, Veterans Field, and the Bolstad Beach Pavilion. Whether you enjoy folk, jazz, bluegrass, classic rock, funk, or Americana, this year’s lineup offers something for everyone.

Thursday Concert Series (4:00–6:00 PM)

Location: Mary Lou’s Park, 3rd Street SE next to Castaway’s

June 18 – Steve Frost

A Peninsula favorite known for acoustic folk, country classics, and easy-listening Americana with a relaxed, storytelling style.

June 25 – LeAnna and JBird

An acoustic duo featuring rich harmonies and a blend of folk, country, and contemporary favorites.

July 2 – Villainous Things

A high-energy band delivering rock, alternative music, and crowd-pleasing covers.

July 9 – Peninsula Guitar Trio

Three accomplished guitarists performing instrumental arrangements ranging from jazz and classical pieces to contemporary favorites.

July 16 – Jon Lee and the June Hogs

A lively Americana and roots-rock group known for upbeat performances and strong musicianship.

July 23 – Brian O’Connor

A singer-songwriter whose folk-inspired music combines thoughtful lyrics with Pacific Northwest influences.

July 30 – Brownsmead Flats

A respected regional bluegrass band featuring traditional string-band music, harmonies, and Americana classics.

August 6 – Oyster Crackers

A local favorite blending folk, country, and classic rock with a Northwest flavor.

August 13 – Vintage Vibes

A nostalgic journey through classic hits from the 1950s through the 1980s.

August 20 – Double J and the Boy

An entertaining duo performing country, blues, and rock favorites with audience participation.

August 27 – Millionth Street

A modern Americana and rock group known for energetic live performances and original music.

September 3 – Wild Ferns

A folk-inspired acoustic group whose music reflects the beauty and spirit of the Pacific Northwest.

June 20 – Steel Magic NW

A steel drum ensemble bringing Caribbean rhythms, tropical sounds, and island energy to Long Beach.

June 27 – Chelsea Jazz Trio

A sophisticated jazz group performing standards, swing, Latin jazz, and contemporary favorites.

July 5 – Beach Break

The perfect summer beach band, featuring surf tunes, beach music, and classic summer hits.

July 11 – Oly Mountain Boys

A traditional bluegrass band showcasing banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and harmony vocals.

August 1 – Upper Left Coast Standard

A Northwest roots and Americana group combining folk traditions with regional influences.

August 15 – The Fabulous Murphtones

A crowd favorite known for danceable rock-and-roll, rhythm and blues, and classic party music.

August 22 – Funk Junkies

An energetic band performing funk, soul, R&B, and groove-driven dance music guaranteed to get audiences moving.

A Long Beach Summer Tradition

Music in the Park has become one of the most anticipated summer events on the Long Beach Peninsula. The free concerts provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to gather, enjoy live entertainment, support local artists, and experience the vibrant culture of the coast. Bring a lawn chair, relax with friends and family, and enjoy an outstanding lineup of performers throughout the summer.
